«I got more time with him…»

Cried, remembering my last moments with my husband, and Shirley Revell. While outside the window the storm she was worried not about himself but about his favorite.

A month ago, James David Revell suffered a stroke. He was hospitalized and then transferred to a rehabilitation center in Brownstown. Even before hurricane Shirley carried it home in a small village in Greensboro, where the couple settled after his wedding in 1959.

James was not on the mend — couldn’t walk and barely drank through a straw, so Shirley decided to care for him at home. James passed away in 15.15, in the midst of a hurricane. Until his last breath, his wife was sitting next to, holding his hand.

When the hospice workers said that due to bad weather can not come to record the death of James and take his body to the morgue, Shirley was upset, but then accepted the delay as a sad gift.

«…So I got [to spend] more time with him, she said. And at least he’s not alone. This for me is the main thing».
