Chapter NYTWA Bhairavi Desai today posted on social networks a letter, which explained why the Union will not leave this case without attention:

«This is part of a pattern of disregard for the lives of taxi drivers in new York, most of whom are immigrants. Unfortunately, we have observed that violence against taxi drivers.

We don’t think the NYPD could not verify many forms of identification, which were visible in the vehicle Magdy… We are absolutely certain that racism and Islamophobia has contributed to the unnecessary horrors and the fact that the family of Magdi were desperately looking for their loved one, while his body remained unidentified in the morgue.

Every day favorite say goodbye to the taxi drivers, not knowing if they would return. Drivers are murdered more than any other profession in the United States, as well as the risk to get into accidents. Stress levels for drivers has increased dramatically, as in recent years, revenues have fallen sharply, which led to a lengthening of the working day and the loss of health. All the troubles of the drivers should not worsen this attitude of the authorities and the police.»
