Hurricane winds in southern California will continue at least until Wednesday

Strong winds that hit southern California on Monday, January 21, will last at least another day. During the night a storm knocked dozens of trees and tore power lines. In most areas where the storm is raging, a storm warning is valid until midday Wednesday. Wind gusts up to 48 km/h continue to blow in the San Fernando Valley and Inland Empire.

On Monday, the wind knocked down trees in Inglewood and La Mirada. A tree fell on a house in Los Feliz and damaged power lines but no injuries.

The Department of water and power Los Angeles received three reports of a power outage. In the evening after a crash in valley Glen van NUYS power was restored. Small disruptions in the power grid is still continuing in the Hollywood hills and Brentwood.

Around 21:00 a large tree fell on the car turned the corner on Sunset Boulevard in Cliffwood. Car crushed by tree, but the people inside were able to safely get out. The Western strip of Sunset Boulevard blocked off, and one of the Eastern bands of the movement continues.

In the West, Los Angeles old eucalyptus tree fell on San Vicente Boulevard. About victims information is not available. Earlier on Sunday, another eucalyptus tree fell on the restaurant the Rib Ranch in woodland hills. It damaged the car and the truck, but no one was hurt.

Because of the strong wind gusts may have difficulty with driving, especially trucks. Meteorologists also recommend to remove the umbrellas and awnings in the courtyards. The wind can disrupt them and someone to hurt.
