Storm «Lucian» is moving to California. Some of the highways blocked due to snowfall and landslides

Due to winter storm «Lucian» on Tuesday, February 5, on the roads from the Pacific coast to the Midwest become very dangerous. Interstate highway 80 is still closed in both directions from Applegate (California) to the border with Nevada.

According to CalTrans, as of 7: 30 a.m. remained closed:

  • right route 101 from North of state beaches to Seacliff;
  • highway 33 from Fairview Road to Lockwood Valley Road;
  • highway 23 from Pacific Coast Highway to the top of Mulholland Highway;
  • route 27 (Topanga Canyon Boulevard) from Pacific Coast Highway to Grand View Drive.

Due to the snow storm yesterday closed at least 5 ski resorts in the Eastern Sierra and Tahoe. Ski resort June Mountain, where fell 2-2. 5 m of snow, and the ski resort Kirkwood with 0.3 m of snow also closed for the day.
