California hit 18 trillion gallons of water

Rain, rain and rain again — such was the weather in California (primarily in the Northern part of the state) last week.

You will be shocked to find out how much rain water was spilled during that time in Golden state. According to the National weather service, in February in California fell 18 trillion gallons (about 70 trillion liters) of rain! But the month is not over yet.

Meteorologist KGO-TV Mike Nicco said, what can be compared is the amount of water:

«18 trillion gallons of water is equivalent to 27 million Olympic swimming pools or 45% of the total volume of lake Tahoe. If all this water to weigh it, it would be 150 trillion pounds of water (68-70 trillion kg. — USA.one). However, impressive?»

What’s even more impressive is the fact that some regions of southern Californiaand is less affected by the rains, are defined by experts as «dry». According to the map, dated February 12 of this year, a moderate drought was observed in parts of the counties of orange, riverside and San Diego.
