Hurricane Dorian turned Paradise island in the Bahamas into a pile of rubble

Island Man-O-War Cay was destroyed by hurricane Dorian to such a degree that literally became a pile of rubble.
The damage is around 90-100%.

The number of victims Dorian has already reached 20 people. Search groups combing the area and in the next few days will be assessed the full extent of the damage.

«We expect the death toll will increase,» said Prime Minister Hubert Munis at a press conference on Wednesday evening.

The deadly storm — the strongest, which saw the Bahamas destroyed many homes and entire neighborhoods turned into mountains of rubble. Even new homes that were built in compliance with more stringent building requirements, shattered into splinters.

«There’s nothing left. — told CNN, Sharon Roll, living in the Bahamas Abaco — Now we literally live in the car, just trying to figure out what to do next. I don’t feel safe. I don’t see the authorities around. They say they work, but honestly I don’t see them. Around a lot of death, much chaos, much destruction. You could literally smell death in the air after the water had receded and the sun came out. It is unreal. Abaco razed to the ground, they are no more. We just need a plan, need help.»

Aerial shots from a helicopter showed that the Bahamas look like a scene post-apocalyptic future.

The latest update from the National hurricane center indicates that Dorian has again gained strength and again became a category 3 hurricane with wind speeds of 115 miles per hour. He is now in the Atlantic ocean approximately 100 miles South of Charleston (SC).

Twitter user Steve adkins posted a video of downtown Charleston. The footage, shot early Thursday morning, you can see a strong wind and incessant rain on the streets.

According poweroutage.us, hurricane Dorian this morning was deprived of electricity for more than 167 thousand inhabitants of Georgia and South Carolina.

According to forecasts, along the coast of South Carolina will be dropped 15-20 inches of rain. Flooding is expected in Church Creek (West Ashley), downtown Charleston, North Charleston, mount Pleasant, goose Creek, Hanahan, Mcclellanville, Edisto beach and Middleton place. Authorities are asking local residents to find shelter and prepare for the storm.
