Tornadoes in the United States: wind overturned trucks and destroyed (video)

A hurricane-force wind in Arkansas and Texas in the night from Friday to Saturday, January 11, turned trucks along the highways.

In Arkansas, St. Francis was the site blocked interstate 40 (Interstate 40) after the wind knocked over seven to ten trucks. In Texas, the wind flipped an 18-wheel vehicle in the County of Dallas. According to FOX 4, the truck fell into the grass next to Interstate 635 in Irving. Rescuers had to break a window to pull the driver, who received minor injuries.

A large part of North Texas was under a warning about a tornado until 21:00 on Friday, January 10.

According to the national weather service, in the County of Logan (Arkansas) was destroyed a few houses – there landed «large and extremely dangerous tornado». The wind was such force that was lifted in the air house-trailers. A tornado warning near Walmart in Clarksville have forced buyers to gather in the back of the store. According to eyewitnesses, the roar was such, «as if riding a freight train».

The national centre of forecasting of storms noted that more than 18 million people in Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas and Oklahoma were subjected to increased risk Friday, including from strong tornadoes, floods and wind gusts that could exceed 80 mph (129 km/h). In certain districts of nine States — Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi, Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Illinois, and Indiana – continuing the threat of flash floods due to heavy rains.
