A severe thunderstorm caused floods in Massachusetts, which literally drowned cities in water.

The National Weather Service (NWS) office in Boston said more than 3 inches of rainwater fell in southeastern Massachusetts, causing storms followed by flash flooding.

“The weather today is simply unthinkable. — wrote Norwood Police Chief William Brooks on social networks — Floods are everywhere, many drivers are trapped.

Rainfall was especially heavy in Norwood, where the police had to carry out rescue operations several times. Hundreds of residents were left without electricity, and in one of the local hospitals, the water rose 4 feet, shattering doors.
