Storm Elsa is approaching Florida. Where does the storm warning apply?

As Storm Elsa approaches the Florida Keys, a tropical storm warning has been issued for some areas of central Florida. In particular, it operates in Sumter County and some parts of Marion County.

According to forecasters, at 5 a.m. on Tuesday, the center of the tropical storm was located 50 miles southwest of Key West. Elsa was moving north and northwest at a speed of about 12 m / h with a maximum wind of 60 m / h.

It is predicted that Elsa will pass on Tuesday morning near the Florida Keys.

Then, as forecasters expect, the storm will pass near or over some areas of the west coast of Florida on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The National Hurricane Center also reports that several tornadoes are possible in some parts of Florida on Tuesday, which will continue until Wednesday.

According to forecasters, in the Florida Keys, as well as in the southwestern and western parts of the Florida Peninsula, 3 to 5 inches of precipitation will fall, the amount of which may increase to 8 inches tomorrow.

In the rest of Florida, precipitation should not exceed 6 inches.
