Weather forecasters predict a stormy hurricane season in America. On Wednesday, the national center for oceanic and atmospheric research provided an updated forecast that over the Atlantic formed from 14 to 19 known storms — 5 — 9 of them become hurricanes, and 2-5 will be accompanied by powerful winds with speeds up to 178 km/h.
Is the number of tropical storms beyond the norm — from June to the present moment has already occurred 6: Arlene in April, Bret and Cindy in June, don and Emily in July, and Franklin in August.
2 named storms reached the shores of the United States — Cindy made landfall near the border of Louisiana and Texas on June 22, triggering heavy rains, flooding and numerous tornadoes.
