In Germany, parliamentary elections were held: leader Merkel

24 September in Germany, held regular elections to the Parliament. Polls closed at 18:00 local time. Although a preliminary official results of the elections to the Bundestag will be announced around 2:00-3:00 am on September 25, they are unlikely to be very different from the results of exit polls, which appeared almost immediately after the end of voting.

According to Reuters, the victory, and along with the position of Chancellor of Germany, won the Christian democratic Union of Germany headed by Angela Merkel. The party rests at the helm of the Board for a fourth term in a row.

After the shocking results of last year’s vote in the UK, the results of which Albion took the decision to leave the European Union, the unpredictable victory at the presidential elections of the USA of Donald trump, many expect that Merkel will be able to restore order in the Western liberal world and to lead «post-brestovsko» Europe.

According to a survey broadcaster ARD, block Merkel, the Christian democratic Union and its Bavarian ally, the Christian social Union received 32.5% of the vote. Compared to the last elections, the position of the CDU is seriously weakened: the unit has lost almost 10% of voters ( in 2014 they received 41.5%).

Their main rivals, the center — left Social democratic party of Germany — was able to win only 20% of the votes, which is the minimum post-war result of the game.
For the first time in half a century a place in the Bundestag is the extreme right-wing party «Alternative for Germany» — they have 13.5 per cent.

Now Angela Merkel a difficult process of forming a coalition government. It can take several months, because its potential partners are unsure of whether they want to share the reins with MS Merkel.

Martin Schulz, leader of the Social Democratic party of Germany immediately after the elections, in his address to supporters, announced that he wanted to replace Merkel, and not to become a Minister. So the party goes in onthe ppozitsiey. This means that the Grand coalition will not.
