Azzedine alaïa, the French designer of Tunisian origin, died at the age of 77 years after a heart attack.
It is believed that the designer was born in 1935 in Tunis. However, as a teenager, he lied about his age to get into the École des Beaux-Arts, and some disagreed, many in fact, the designer years. In 1957 he moved to Paris, where the Alaya took on the work of Christian Dior. Later the young man had to leave, as I am having problems with the documents.
His brand he founded in 1970 in the apartment on Rue de Bellechasse, and the first collection was created in 1980. After a few seasons Azzedin already dressed Tina Turner and Madonna.
In July 2017 alaïa, after six years of silence, has created a new collection, which was the last. The show was Jacques lang, former Minister of culture of France; Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, former first lady of France, Isabelle Huppert, Marc Newson and Fabrice Hergott, Director of the Museum of modern art in Paris.
Many famous stars, representatives of show-business and politics were his fans and friends. Naomi Campbell still calls the famous designer father and wears his dress.
He is considered a sculptor in the fashion world. Alaïa created clothes for strong, independent women at the same time fragile and sexy. The designer has broken all possible rules: collection came out when he saw fit, Azzedin worked and lived at their own pace, creating amazing dresses and not caring about fleeting trends and tendencies.
