In Kiev arrested the former President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili, who four months ago were deprived of Ukrainian citizenship.
The arrest of opposition occurred yesterday evening in the apartment of the former chief of the National police in the Luhansk region Yuri Pokerparty. The special services of Ukraine managed to arrest Saakashvili three days after the first failed attempt – then the politician escaped from the hands of police due to the large crowd of supporters.
This time, law enforcement officials were able to deliver Saakashvili in prison, where he declared the beginning of termless hunger strike. Hundreds of supporters of the leader of the political movement «movement new forces» gathered near the detention center of the SBU, shouting «Shame!» and calling upon all Ukrainians to join them.
Mockingbird wrote a message on his page in Facebook, in which he spoke about how there was detention. He noted that he was to be arrested along with the opposition, but this did not happen. According to police, most likely, want to substitute him, accusing him of the incident. The former head of GUNP believes that it can «kill» in retaliation for the arrest of Saakashvili.
Saakashvili was arrested on suspicion of having links with the Ukrainian businessman Sergei Kurchenko, who fled the country in 2014 during Euromaidan. In SBU believe that the fugitive was able to Fund shares held by the opposition against the current government in Ukraine.
