For example, a Professor from the United States Asaad Abukhalil wrote in Twitter: «beauty Queen of Iraq happily posing with the beauty Queen of occupation and brutality».
In response to criticism of Sarah Idan, representing Iraq, wrote on Instagram that miss Israel, Adar, Handelsman, approached her at a photo shoot and expressed hope for peace between the two peoples.
Idan, who grew up in Iraq and moved to the United States to study music, also apologized to those who perceived this photo as an insult to Palestinians.
Miss Iraq noted that it was not the first and not the last person in the country, threatened by persecution. She said that now millions of Iraqi women live in fear in their Homeland.
