Anger: the North Korean authorities calling for the easing of tension in relations with South Korea

Wednesday at the General meeting of the DPRK government, the authorities have approved a Memorandum calling for the unification of the Korean nation and the easing of military tensions with South Korea. The statement quoted by the Central news Agency of the DPRK.

The document says that in order to overcome the division of the nation Koreans should «establish contacts, cooperation between North and South Korea», to endorse the free movement of citizens between countries and the exchange of experiences in all fields. The statement also contains a warning about avoiding foreign influence. Pyongyang will strongly oppose anyone who tries to prevent the reunion of the Koreans.

Recall that the Korean Peninsula was divided into South and North Korea after world war II. Since the tension in relations between the two countries has not disappeared, the situation was tense until recently. In the last few months the relationship became less strained. As a result, North Korea will send a delegation of athletes to participate in the Olympic games held in South Korea’s Pyeongchang next month.
