A few hours before the opening of the Olympics, the international court in Lausanne (CAS) decided that the complaint 45 Russian athletes and 2 coaches will not be satisfied.
A week ago, the CAS annulled the sanction of MoCA vs 28 athletes, abolishing their lifetime suspension and a restoration of the results during the Olympics in Sochi. Despite this, the Olympic Committee did not allow for the competition of athletes who have declared the desire to participate in the Games in 2018.
CAS considered that the decision of the IOC not apply to the sanctions, so the court is not entitled to cancel it.
By the way, today was held the opening ceremony Olympics in Pyeongchang in which took part in the Russian athletes. A delegation of 80 athletes from Russia took place under a neutral flag.
