Fully known physicist Stephen Hawking died at the age of 76 years. According to the family, he died peacefully at home in Cambridge on Wednesday morning.
Hawking was a famous work on the theory of black holes and relativity. He wrote on the subject a few well-known works, including «a Brief history of time» (A Brief History of Time). The famous physicist also became the founder of quantum cosmology and discovered Hawking radiation, finding that black holes of low mass lose energy and «evaporate».
At the age of 22 years he was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, predicting that live Hawking a few years left. Due to the illness of a physicist was in a wheelchair, almost completely lost mobility and the ability to speak, communicating via a speech synthesizer, but continued to work and teach.
His children, Lucy, Robert and Tim said: «We are deeply saddened by the death of our dear father. He was a great scientist and an extraordinary man whose work and legacy will live on for many years.»
They remembered his «courage and perseverance», adding that «great personality and sense of humor» Hawking has inspired people around the world.
«He once said, the universe wouldn’t be so special without the people you love. We never cease to miss him».

In his memoirs, Hawking recalled how he was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and wrote: «At the time it seemed that all was over, and that I never realize its potential. But now, 50 years later, I am completely satisfied with life».
