Lavrov accused the US of meddling in the Affairs of other countries

The Minister of foreign Affairs of Russia Sergey Lavrov said that Russia, unlike US, will never interfere in the Affairs of other States. This was the Russian representative stated during his working trip to Africa, said on the Agency’s website.

According to the head of the foreign Ministry, he was surprised, after reading an article in the New York Times, in which it was said that the United States affect the elections in many countries, for the benefit of those countries, he called this approach «neo-imperialist».

S.#Lavrov: #US meddling in the internal Affairs of other States, but for the benefit of the countries in question, because they carry through his intervention «freedom and democracy». I believe such approaches are absolutely neo-imperialist. https://t.co/gOyyNso8W9 #Russia #elections #Zimbabwe pic.twitter.com/95gCSXPeQO

«We never interfere in anyone’s internal Affairs, despite the fact that Washington and other Western capitals daily, there are claims to the contrary», — said Lavrov.

During his visit to Zimbabwe, the diplomat also dismissed some remarks about the Secretary of state’s Rex Tillerson, who is now in Africa in the framework of the official visit.

Lavrov allegedly questioned the fact that Tillerson is an expert in «China-Africa relations», when he accused Beijing to «encourage addiction» in Africa. The Minister believes that such a statement was incorrect from the American representative, given that he is «away».
