Secret meeting in the Seychelles on the eve of the inauguration of Donald trumpand was an attempt to create a channel between the new administration and the Kremlin. It is reported by The Washington Post, citing sources familiar with the investigation of spectracolor Roberta Muller.
In January 2017, Erik Prince, founder of private security company «Blackwater», met with the CEO of the Russian direct investment Fund Kirill Dmitriev, close to President of Russia Vladimir Putin. In the investigation of Russia’s interference in elections last year, the Prince called the meeting casual and unplanned.
But the Lebanese-American businessman George Nader denies the words of his longtime friend, Prince, assuring that he personally helped to organize and was even present during the conversation representatives of the two countries in the Seychelles. As reported by Nader, Prince and Dmitriev discussed the «future relations between the two countries».
According to people familiar with this issue, Nader has long been an Advisor to the leadership of Arab Emirates. He repeatedly met with representatives of trump’s staff, including its former senior adviser to Stephen Bannon and his son-in-law Jared Kushner. After the meeting in the Seychelles Nader several times visited the White house and met with the above representatives.
Team Mueller believes that this meeting could be the first attempt to create a secret communication channel of the current President of the trump with the Russian government.
