The DPRK will cease nuclear tests if the United States will hold talks on the denuclearization of

North Korea promised to stop the testing of nuclear missiles, if the United States will negotiate with Pyongyang, reports Associated Press, citing a source in the office of the President of South Korea.

Head of national security under the President of South Korea Chon Yong First said that officials of North Korea is ready for «peace» talks with the US on issues related to the potential denuclearization of the DPRK and normalization of relations between Pyongyang and Washington. But in this case an obligatory condition remains a security guarantee for the North Koreans.

Yesterday, 5 March, took place the official meeting of the leader of the DPRK with the South Korean delegation. During lunch , Kim Jong-UN stressed that he is «determined on a vigorous promotion of relations between the North and the South and writing a new history of national unification, thanks to the joint efforts of the nation.»

The thaw in relations between North and South Korea began before the winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, when representatives of the two countries met for the first time in several years, and decided that their teams will compete under one flag.

Many experts believe that South Korea under the leadership of moon Jae-In is going to take on the role of a mediator in the normalization of relations between North Korea and the United States.
