In Moscow at the age of 62 years died Sergei Mavrodi, founder of the financial pyramid «MMM».
Mavrodi was hospitalized with a bus stop on the street Polikarpov in the night of Monday 26 March, and was taken to hospital No. 67 with complaints of pain in the heart. On the death of the businessman became known in the morning. According to preliminary data, the cause of death was a massive heart attack.
Mavrodi created in 1989, joint-stock company «MMM» is the largest in the history of modern Russia a financial pyramid: it affected several million people, the total damage amounted to approximately 3 billion rubles.
After the recognition of the «MMM» Mavrodi bankruptcy was declared wanted. He was arrested in 2003, and in 2007 was sentenced to 4 years in prison for fraud. As the custody, read out the sentence soon the convict was released.
In subsequent years, Mavrodi has created several financial pyramids, including «MMM-2011», which was later reorganized into «MMM-2012» and international network «MMM». Mavrodi declared that «MMM» financial pyramid is not.
