According to the Pentagon, the explosions occurred in 3 places: at the scientific research center in Damascus, presumably associated with the production of chemical and biological weapons, as well as in two places near the city of HOMS, located in Central Western Syria. While in the Syrian Federal news Agency reported that everything was released on the HOMS of the missiles were intercepted.
«The goal today is to create a strong deterrent against the production, proliferation and use of chemical weapons», — said the President of the United States Donald trump in his address to the nation from the White house about 21:00 local time.
Russia’s Ambassador to the U.S. Anatoly Antonov commented on the new round of events in the Syrian conflict. The diplomat said that their worst fears have been realized, and an attack on a Russian ally «will not remain without consequences.»
Yesterday, April 13, the head of Russian foreign Ministry Sergei Lavrov said that the chemical attack in Syria was organized by «foreign agents». A Ministry of defense believe that the United Kingdom is responsible for this «provocation.» By the way, the relations of Moscow and London in the last month became more complicated: first it was connected with the poisoning of former spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter, and then with the escalation of the conflict in Syria.
