In Russia arrested in absentia of the owner of the Museum of Russian icons in the United States

The founder of the Museum of Russian icons in Clinton County (Massachusetts) Gordon Lenkton arrested in absentia in Russia. This decision was made Tver court in Moscow.

Lenkton who owns a private Museum, is accused of failure to return within the prescribed period, the cultural values of the Russian Federation. According to court documents, the man declared internationally wanted.

Lenktonu faces up to 8 years in a Russian prison.

Although it is not known exactly which were charged to American, but most likely, it is connected with history, which began in 2011. Then the Ministry of culture of Russia has demanded from the American Museum to return to Moscow art objects of the exhibition «Treasures of Moscow».
