Astronauts from Russia and the United States survived a crash in a rocket-carrier «Soyuz»

Two astronauts from U.S. and Russia made an emergency landing today, October 11, in the steppes of Kazakhstan after the accident on the carrier rocket «Soyuz MS – 10»that took place at the Baikonur cosmodrome.

The rocket was supposed to deliver to nick Hague and Alexei Ovchinin to the International space station. «Roskosmos» and NASA said that the 3-stage rocket engine failure 2nd stage.

Astronauts were evacuated from the ship in an escape pod. Later it became known that they landed safely approximately 450 km North-East of Baikonur. Went to search-and-rescue team.

«Thank God, the crew is alive,» — said the press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov.

According to NASA, the Hague, and Ovchinin will go to the Center of cosmonaut training. Gagarin in star city near Moscow.
