Joseph Evenki from the USA and Alexei Furman VR has created a documentary project about the revolution of dignity in Ukraine

Ukrainian American Joseph Evenki and Ukrainian Alexey Furman, who studied together at the Fulbright program, has created a documentary project Aftermath VR: Euromaidan.

The film tells about the February 20, 2014 — the beginning of the tragic events during the revolution of dignity in Ukraine. Both photographer have been directly involved and seen everything that happened at that time in the center of Kiev.

Joseph Evenki, which has Odessa roots, working for publications such as the New York Times, Time, New York Times Magazine, Newsweek, GQ, the New Yorker and Conde Nast Portfolio. That is grant money received under the Fulbright program, the photographer started working on the project about the wounded Ukrainian activists and soldiers. He went to clinics, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, homes, to create a photo exhibition that had to endure people in Ukraine.

Later Alexey Furman, they decided to present the events of those days in an innovative way and has come to virtual reality. The result is a documentary VR-VR project Aftermath: Euromaidan. Wearing 3D glasses, you can walk on the street Institutska, where the unfolding of key events 20 February 2014, to hear eyewitness accounts, view archival photos and artifacts from the Museum of the Maidan, in particular Molotov cocktails, pieces of paving stones, improvised shields.

In July of 2018, the project was presented in new York, in September in Kiev and in October, successfully completed a Kickstarter campaign, having collected $11 945.

The Fulbright program is a prestigious international program of grants for the exchange, founded in 1946. Its main objective is the establishment of relations between U.S. citizens and foreigners.
