In Moscow the age of 88 years died a Soviet and Russian film Director Georgy Danelia.
This was the «Novaya Gazeta» said the family of the Director.
George Danelia in February, was hospitalized with pneumonia. He was in intensive care, doctors temporarily put him in an artificial coma.
Georgiy Daneliya was born on August 25, 1930 in Tbilisi, a year later the family moved to Moscow. In 1955 he graduated from the Moscow architectural Institute, in 1954-1955, he worked as an architect in the Institute of urban design. Danelia was interested in films, filmed scenes and in 1956 he enrolled at the newly opened the advanced directing courses.
Since 1959 — Director of «Mosfilm».
Wide fame came to the Director in 1964, after the release of the lyrical Comedy «I step through Moscow». Among his other well-known film — «Thirty three», «Autumn marathon», «Completely gone!», «Afonya», «Mimino» and «kin-DZA-DZA».
Danelia was the honored worker of arts of RSFSR, people’s artist of USSR, laureate of the State prize of the USSR. In 2002 and 2010, the Director gave the order «For merits before Fatherland» the third and second degree respectively.
