Tower of the world trade center will be lit the colors of the French flag in connection with a fire in Notre-Dame de Paris

One of the most iconic buildings of new York city – world trade center — will tonight light up the colors of the French flag, as a sign of support after the fire that severely damaged the legendary Notre Dame Cathedral.

Thus, the authorities in new York want to pay tribute to the victim of the legendary monument.

«Our hearts ached when we watched the devastating fire, destroying one of the most sacred and famous religious monuments in the world – said Cuomo. — New York in solidarity with the people of France and the Catholics around the world who are mourning this huge loss.»

Cuomo, himself a Catholic, thanked all those who first took the necessary steps and helped with the suppression «of this important fragment of the French and Catholic history.»

Tonight @OneWTC will be lit in the colors of the French flag as a tribute to the magnificent Notre Dame Cathedral.

We are deeply grateful to the first responders who saved portions of this irreplaceable piece of French and Catholic history.

However, this is not the first time the 408-foot (124 m) spire of the world trade center towers illuminated the colors of the flag of France on the orders of Cuomo. Before the spire was lit in blue, white and red in November 2015 after the terrorist attack in Paris killed more than 100 people.

We will remind that the fire in the Cathedral of Notre Dame began the evening of April 15, the flames completely destroyed the steeple and the roof. To cope with the raging fire element was only in the morning. The President of France macron has promised for 5 years to restore the centuries-old Cathedral.
