Angry looking turtle rescued from the fire, which she also arranged for Christmas (photo)

In the UK, angry-looking turtle rescued during the fire that… she started.

As reported by firefighters of Essex, 45-year-old reptile knocked over my lamp with a heated bedding that caught fire. At this time, the owners was not home, but thankfully, the neighbours heard a smoke alarm and called 999.

This 45 year old tortoise might look angry but it’s his lucky day. After he set his bedding alight his neighbour heard the smoke alarm and called us. Our on-call crews left their families to go extinguish the fire, and gave him a very merry Christmas ➡ it’s amazing https://t.co/xkk3QsXwGT pic.twitter.com/L3v8fFlu0p

«The fire started after the turtle was hit by a lamp with a heated bed, which caught fire, — said the duty Manager fire station, Gary Wayne. This incident shows how important it is to have a smoke alarm on each floor of your home. Even if you are absent, it will be able to warn the neighbors. This turtle had a very happy Christmas. She, as it turned out, 45 years, and now, hopefully, she will live happily ever after.»

Earlier this year, the Essex firefighters were called to another incident of an animal – a big rat stuck in a sewer grate.

Seven (!) members of the fire brigade freed the rodent. The rat was unharmed and ran home.

When the fire Department posted the photo of this unusual rescue in social networks, they received dozens of comments. People were genuinely happy that firefighters took the time to save the rat.

One user wrote: «well Done, that saved the rat. Poor thing probably glad that some people care about every animal in the world.»

Another added: «Humanity is measured including the way we relate to all living beings.»
