Ukrainians came out to protest against the evacuation of compatriots from Wuhan

Ukrainians came out to protest against arrived from Wuhan compatriots. Despite the fact that all protective measures had been followed, the protesters fear that the newcomers bring with them dangerous coronavirus COVID-19.

On the morning of 20 February in Kharkov awaiting the arrival of aircraft with evacuees from Wuhan citizens but due to the adverse weather conditions the flight was headed to Kiev for refueling. A few hours later, the plane arrived in Kharkiv, where people are transplanted into special transport — and the column headed for Poltava medical center New Sanzhary, where citizens will be mandatory visual observation.

A few days before this, news of the evacuation had alarmed local residents and the village was swept by a wave of protest that resulted in new clashes in the Ternopil and Lviv regions. Although all safety measures were met, and the Board did not take some people with fever, local residents are still protesting against the evacuation, fearing a surge COVID-19 in Ukraine.

«The security measures are unprecedented. Did everything possible and impossible to guarantee that the virus in Ukraine will not fall.» — said the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky in his statement. «Several citizens are not allowed to Board in Wuhan, as they had a slight temperature. The Ukrainian authorities urge citizens not to panic and provocations, Reaffirming that all measures necessary have been complied with and dissemination COVID-19 not threatens not only the inhabitants of Poltava region, but also the entire territory of Ukraine.
