Diana Rigg — the famous British actress and Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire, best known for her roles as Emma Peel in The Avengers and Olenna Tyrell in Game of Thrones — has died at her home. She was 82 years old.
According to Rigg's daughter, Rachel Stirling, her mother died of cancer surrounded by relatives. The actress was diagnosed back in March.
“She has spent the last months happily reflecting on her extraordinary life, full of love, laughter and deep pride in her profession,” Stirling wrote.
