Two brothers of five and seven years lived with the corpse of their adoptive mother for a whole week, since they could not call for help. Connie Taylor, 71, passed away tragically at her home, presumably of natural causes, in Talty, Texas.
The brothers, whom she adopted just a month before her death from foster families, could not unlock her phone to ask for help because they did not know the password.
The boys survived for five days on their own, taking care of themselves and each other unaided. The children said that they did not know their neighbors and were afraid to go out, so they sat at home and ate only what was left in the kitchen. When the police arrived, the children opened the door and said that «mom» had fainted and was no longer getting up. The officers found their adoptive mother, who allegedly died of a sudden heart attack.
The woman's body was found only after a school teacher sounded the alarm. The boys had been away for too long and were missing classes.
Taylor is believed to have died of natural causes, but an autopsy will establish the exact cause of her death.
Information about the biological parents of the boys was not disclosed. After Taylor's death, the brothers were temporarily placed in foster families.
Presumably, one of Connie's children plans to take custody of them.
