Steroids Trump Takes May Cause Confusion and Megalomania

Donald Trump's physician confirmed on Sunday that he was being given dexamethasone, a steroid drug used to treat critically ill coronavirus and prescribed to the president to regulate blood oxygen levels. Studies have shown that steroid use can significantly improve the survival rate of critically ill patients — however, there are troubling side effects.

According to the Mayo Clinic, side effects of dexamethasone include aggression, agitation, anxiety, irritability, mood swings, wheezing, and weight gain. There is also the possibility that the president will suffer from «confusion, problems speaking or walking,» as well as «obsessive thoughts» and «megalomania.»

Some experts have already suggested that Trump consider temporarily transferring control over the country's nuclear arsenal until he recovers 100%. Pulmonologist Brian McVerry of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center also commented on the president's condition, confirming that the recent spike in Trump's Twitter activity may have been caused by dexamethasone, which triggers an energy surge.
