First ever gigafire recorded in California

The California wildfire has reached such proportions that it is now classified as a gigafire. To date, it has covered over a million acres of land.

As of Monday, October 5, Cal Fire has declared the August Complex Fire the largest in California history. Now it burns in several districts at once.
