New Jersey postman arrested after throwing out nearly 100 ballots

A New Jersey postman was arrested after throwing away hundreds of letters — including nearly a hundred ballots sent by voters who voted by mail.

According to the prosecutor, 26-year-old Nicholas Boshen, whose route included Orange and West Orange, allegedly dumped 1,875 letters in dumpsters on October 2 and 5. Among them there were 99 ballots addressed to the DEC.

The discarded mail was returned back to the delivery system after investigators made copies of the letters for use as evidence in the case. All mailings are expected to reach the recipients shortly.

Boshen faces up to five years in prison on a number of charges, including obstruction of mail.
