The snake lover kept 20 pythons, 585 rats and 46 rabbits at home

The snake lover faced nearly two dozen charges after police found 20 huge Burmese pythons roaming freely around the house, as well as 585 rats and 46 rabbits.

Some of the snakes that lived with 64-year-old Martin Bone of Holladey, Utah were 10 feet or more in length. It is not known whether rats and rabbits served as food for them.

All animals will be examined by a veterinarian pending investigation.

Not only did Bone not get permission to keep the snakes, police said, but he allegedly tried to breed them for sale. In a conversation with an undercover officer, he said that he recently managed to sell a Burmese python cub.

Bone is charged with 20 cases of illegal possession of exotic animals. He was arrested, but has now been released on bail.
