The bird flew without interruption from Alaska to New Zealand. Longest flight in history

The little bird has set an impressive record for the longest continuous journey in human history.

According to The Guardian, the small bode took off in Alaska on September 16 and landed in New Zealand 11 days later. The bird tracked by the satellite flew about 7,580 miles without interruption. Her speed reached 55 miles per hour.

The spindles make long flights twice a year. However, the bird, designated 4BBRW by the environmental group, took a longer route than usual. The reason was strong wind, which forced the record holder to adjust the flight plan.

Scientists believe that little bodews do not eat or sleep during their voyage across the Pacific Ocean. The small birds, which weigh 10 ounces on average, have a «fighter jet,» experts say.

The previous record for the longest non-stop flight was about 7200 miles. It was installed by another breeder in 2007.
