Oscar-winning actor Jeff Bridges was diagnosed with cancer — but he says «the prognosis is good.»

The 70-year-old actor tweeted his illness this morning, October 20. The seven-time Academy Award nominee's post mentions the iconic character that the actor played in The Big Lebowski.

«Like Dude would say … New shit has come up.»

“I was diagnosed with lymphoma. — continued the actor — «Although this is a serious disease, I am lucky that I have an excellent team of doctors and the prognosis is favorable.»

As the Dude would say .. New S ** T has come to light.

I have been diagnosed with Lymphoma. Although it is a serious disease, I feel fortunate that I have a great team of doctors and the prognosis is good.

I'm starting treatment and will keep you posted on my recovery.

He added that he is «starting treatment» and will keep his fans informed of all stages of recovery.
