Adidas plans to sell Reebok

Renowned sportswear and apparel maker Adidas is looking into selling its Reebok brand. This is reported by a source bookmaker-ratings.com.ua/ru/, referring to information published on the Bloomberg website. Discussion of the issue within the company, as well as an assessment of the prospects are at the initial stage — the final decision will be made within a month.

As for comments, an Adidas spokesman declined them. The source notes that the company's CEO Kasper Rorsted, after taking office in 2016, has repeatedly denied rumors about the sale of Reebok. With his submission, only those brand stores that showed low performance were closed.

Reebok's financial performance improved in early 2019, and Rorsted said he hoped to see more sales with the launch of new shoe lines such as the CrossFit Nano and FloatRide Run. But during the global coronavirus pandemic, Reebok was hit harder than Adidas. The publication noted that in the second quarter of 2020, Adidas revenue fell 33%, while Reebok's revenue fell 42%.

Potential bidders for Reebok are US-based VF Corporation (which operates the Timberland and North Face brands) and Chinese sportswear manufacturer Anta International Group Holdings.
