Two House Democrats, unhappy with the party's performance in Tuesday's election, say they and other centrists are privately discussing the possibility of replacing Nancy Pelosi with the new speaker of Congress.
As members of House The Hill reported, they asked their colleagues to support one of Pelosi's top aides, House Democratic Council Chairman Hakim Jeffreys, New York.
According to them, Jeffries is “the only one who is prepared and has the right experience” to become a speaker.
“He will be the perfect link between the moderate and the progressive. And most importantly, he is not Nancy Pelosi. «
While Jeffries himself claims to be uninterested in the speaker's position, the undisclosed congressmen's plan may be just the tip of the iceberg. According to The Hill sources, many associates have questioned Pelosi's strategy after the party showed itself in the elections.
