According to the Washington Post, former Vice President Joe Biden has taken the lead in Georgia, which has favored Republican candidates for nearly 30 years. Whoever wins in a state where 99% of the ballots have already been counted will receive 16 votes from the electoral college — and for Biden this will mean a victory in the election.
As of Friday morning, Biden was 917 votes ahead of Trump. That doesn't mean he has the presidency in his pocket: at least 8,899 ballots sent from overseas and by U.S. Army personnel must arrive at the polls before the end of the day.
Nevertheless, if the ex-vice wins in the state, he will do what no Democrat has been able to do since 1992. Then Bill Clinton defeated former President Bush by a small margin.
To date, the counting of votes also continues in Pennsylvania, where the advantage is still on the side of Trump, in Nevada, where Biden has 49.4% of the vote, and in Arizona, where he overtook his opponent by 46 thousand votes.
