A police officer from Georgia accused of racial hatred, as stated by a white woman that the police «only kills blacks.»
The incident occurred in Cobb County in 2016, but the video hit the net recently thanks to the journalists for Channel 2 Action News.
In the video, the officer stops to check the car, which was a nervous woman. He asks her to take the phone, but she replies that she is afraid to move my hands, since I have heard about many stories where the police shot at people, thinking that they climb.
And then 28-year-old Lieutenant Greg Abbott responds: «But you are dark-skinned. Remember, we only kill black people, right?».
The chief of the police Department, Mike Register, said that a police officer fired after internal investigation.
Attorney Greg Abbott told The Washington Post that the phrase taken out of context, and police — just kidding, wanted to reassure the woman, but the head Register did not agree. «Regardless of the context, such statements are unacceptable,» he said.
The lawyer of the driver called the video shocking. «I heard it and just cringed,» said Suri Chadha Jimenez. «The reality is that for us minorities, that’s real horror. This is not a joke for many people.»
