On Governors Island will be new restaurants

After the appearance on Governors Island, a favorite place of citizens and tourists, at the Hills last year, the management company has decided to revive other parts of the island to make them more accessible to the public.

To this end, in the middle of summer on Governors Island opened Island Oyster — an oyster bar with an outdoor observation deck on 600 seats and great views of downtown Manhattan and new York Harbor. Now the Trust for Governors Island released two ads for proposal (RFP) to attract to the island representatives of the restaurant business and the entertainment industry.

On Governors Island will be new restaurants

In the first Declaration, issued on 20 September, States that the island lacks a restaurant or coffee shop, which in the future will be located in a historic building on the North side of the island for up to three years. The second sentence applies to an outdoor area on the waterfront in the Western area of the island, which is great for festivals and concerts. Officials hope it will be of interest to organizers of outdoor events that will bring in regular life Governors Island some variety.

In both cases, these locations will be open during the season of the island from 1 may to 31 October each year. The trust offers future partners a license for a period of up to three years, because in the future there can appear an office building.

Well, I hope that such conditions will attract the attention of restaurateurs and the island of Manhattan will please us with something interesting next year.
