80-year-old Fran Clark collected a box with gifts for a year. Every day she devoted an hour for preparation and packaging of gifts.
Fran started my business 4 years ago, when he moved to the nursing home. Fran felt lonely because I lived away from my family and children and grandchildren could no longer visit her as often as before.
«My son came in front of me and my grandchildren came to see me every day,» says Fran. «But when I moved they could no longer see me so often.»
It all started after a woman saw in a magazine article with a call to send these boxes to the needy for Christmas. Since then, she helps make other people’s lives a little better.
The contents of the gift boxes depends on the age of recipients. Adult men and women get boxes with clothes, toiletries, cards and dominoes. Children get toys, coloring books and colored pencils. On average, one box costs £ 5, which the woman spends from their personal savings and blagotvoritelniy donations.
In your case Fran is not alone: in the nursing home she was given a room to work with collection boxes, and friends and employees to help find things and to pack gifts. Local Shoe store lays 15 boxes for Fran every week.
