Stock retail sellers of medicines such as Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc., CVS Health Corp. and Rite Aid Corp. fell sharply on Friday after reports that Amazon.com Inc. entering a new phase in their work – selling medicines online.
Today, Amazon is negotiating with managers for a reduced sales in pharmacies average and hires analysts to assess the market for retail trade of medicines.
«We are convinced that Amazon will almost certainly be included in the value chain of drugs for 2 years, going to more attractive to consumers proposals over time,» — said an analyst at the brokerage firm Leerink Ana gupte.
As reported by CNBC, citing sources knowledgeable in the matter, the decision on whether to move to online sales of prescription drugs, the company Amazon must be adopted by thanksgiving.
Representatives of the company yet do not give any official comments concerning the further plans in the field of online trading of medication.
At the end of the week the value of shares of Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc. declined by 5.8%, CVS Health Corp. and Rite Aid Corp. – 4.9%.
