Yesterday about two o’clock in Yosemite national Park occurred rock fall that claimed the life of at least one climber. One person was injured during the incident.
In the Park’s press service announced that one of the largest mountain peaks of El Capitan broke off a piece of rock. Presumably, the collapse occurred near the Waterfall Route – popular with climbers route. According to preliminary data, about 30 people could be in the area of the rockfall.

The staff of Park Rangers engaged in the transportation of the injured climber to provided him necessary medical help.
The press service of the Yosemite has not yet announced the cause of sudden collapse. It is known that the Park is not closed to visitors.

What famous Park?
The Park is one of the most popular trees among tourists, the Redwood of Wawona. Experts determined that the tree is roughly 2100 years. In 1881 it was cut down a thoroughfare for cars, and naturally formed tunnel became a tourist attraction. In 1969, unable to withstand the severity of snow, Sequoia fell. This did not prevent the tree to be a popular destination, because now the visitors capture the images with the already fallen tree tunnel.

The national Park is a huge number of waterfalls and groves sequoiadendron. In addition, about 89 percent of the land is classified as area wildlife.

Yosemite is known for several notable incidents. For example, in 1996 there was a major collapse, which killed one person. The shock wave due to the collapse was so powerful that it knocked down about 4 hectares of forest. And in 1998, killed a well-known extreme Dan Osman, who performed a jump without a net and broke.
