In California because of the threat of explosion evacuated two blocks

On Friday morning two blocks in Lawndale, California, had to be evacuated because of a bomb threat: in the back yard of one of houses have found a whole Arsenal of explosives.

The alarm was raised on Thursday, September 28, around 11 p.m., when the office of the Sheriff of the County of Los Angeles, received a report of a suspicious car at Avis and Prairie avenues, reports ABC7.

Police arrived on call, found in the backyard of the house more than a dozen ammunition box, filled with grants and large-caliber artillery shells.

According to authorities, the shells were very old, possibly during the Second world war.

Due to the findings of the residents of the surrounding houses were evacuated at Leuzinger High School.

The evacuated area covered two blocks: one on the East side and the other from the West Avis Avenue between 147th Street and 149th Street.

«They told us that there was a bomb threat. Therefore, we must evacuate immediately. We were asked to take all the necessary things, medicines, blankets and leave the area», — says a resident of one of the evacuated homes Tony Bernabe.

Bomb experts from special forces and later found out that most of the shells were inactive and could not cause harm, but some of them were quite capable.

According to representatives of the Sheriff’s office at the scene was arrested one person. The prisoner caught with a gun in his hand, which he said he found in the house were earlier conditionally-ahead of schedule released from prison.

The police finds out who owns the house. Neighbors said that the man who first lived in this house wore military clothing, but about whether he was a veteran of the unknown. They believed that the house was empty after the man died a few years ago.

How long residents will have to be outside of their homes is unclear.

On Friday morning police found another batch of ammunition in a shed in the backyard.
