Manhattan dancer , American ballet theatre, who was returning after a performance at the Metropolitan Opera, rescued a 58-year-old man pushed on the tracks at the 72nd Street station, Broadway-Seventh Avenue — reports the New York Times.

Saturday evening, a ballet dancer, 31-year-old gray Davis, was not involved in the performance, he went with his mother to watch the performance of his wife, Cassandra, also a member of American ballet theatre.

After the performance, Davis’s mother witnessed the altercation on the subway platform – cursed man and woman, then the woman pushed his companion right on track. He lost consciousness.

«At first I thought that someone else will jump in and get it. People were shouting, calling for help, but nobody jumped down. So I made it myself», — said the dancer.

Davis says he raised the man, and the people helped to pull him onto the platform. Immediately after this, Davis heard the sound of the train. «There was a new problem. I never thought that the platform is so high. Luckily, I’m a ballet dancer and I was able to put his foot on the platform and get out,» he laughs.

It is also reported that police arrested a native of the Bronx, which is suspected to have pushed the victim. The man was hospitalized.

The staff of the theater plan to celebrate brave Davis today in the evening he will play the role of a pirate in the ballet «Le Corsaire».
