In long island the train hit a car

On Tuesday morning the traffic on the railroad of long island (LIRR) is partially stopped due to an accident. The train crashed into the car of brand Honda Accord at the intersection of Stewart Avenue and Railroad Avenue, near Batara.

According to the carrier, the accident occurred around 6:00. Fortunately, PE has done without human victims. As reported by one of the witnesses, the driver had to leave the car before the collision.

The work of the railway line in both directions from Hicksville temporarily suspended in connection with the need to release the rails. Judging by the nature of the damage on the car, the impact was not very strong.

At the time, passengers are advised to use alternative routes, particularly the railway lines Port Jefferson, Babylon and oyster Bay.

At the moment the traffic on the affected section of the railway was restored. At 9:30 representatives of the LIRR announced that the train runs almost without delay.

Full service on both tracks has been restored through Bethpage. Service is operating on or close to schedule across the branch.
