The attorneys of the Manhattan terrorist , Saifullo Saipov, who fatally run over by a truck 8 people and is a supporter of ISIS, trying to convince prosecutors that the offender admits his guilt.
In a letter to the Federal defender , David Patton and the other attorneys Saipov said that the terrorist pleads guilty, so instead of the death penalty, the protection offered to sentence the defendant to life imprisonment without the right of parole.
According to Patton, this decision «will eliminate the need for the victims’ families prepared for and participated in court proceedings, as well as prevent the years of appeals». The protection of the terrorist believes that such effects would entail the imposition of the death penalty.
In late November, the Federal court pushed the migrants from Uzbekistan and resident of new Jersey charges on 22 counts, including murder and supporting terrorism. A week later Saipov said that he did not plead guilty to the offense. The terrorist had previously noted its support for militant group ISIS and regrets that he didn’t kill more people.
