Two students accused of Internet bullying classmate who committed suicide

Two students were charged with harassment in a virtual classmate who committed suicide a few weeks ago.

January 22, police in Panama city beach (FL) reported that their staff had interviewed two 12-year-old schoolchildren, which could be associated with the death of his classmate Gabrielle Greene.

The tragedy occurred on 10 January in the family home of Greene. Mother Gabriella, Tanya green, has told that shortly before death the daughter complained about the «problem girl» which sent her threatening messages. 40 minutes later after talking with her mother Gabriella was found dead in the closet. According to the medical examination, the girl died due to hanging.

During the investigation, family and friends warned the police that the girl was a victim of cyberbullying. According to her mother Gabriela, she even did not attend school because of constant bullying from students.

Detectives reviewed messages girls on mobile phone and social networks and found out who was behind the threats. They were classmates Gabriella – boy and girl, whose names the police did not disclose. During questioning, the students admitted that she had sent Gabriella a message threatening, «knowing that such actions will lead to her emotional breakdown».

After the interrogation, the police warned parents to closely monitor the activities of their children on the Internet. In the following weeks, officers will conduct trainings for parents about the apps that can be dangerous for their children, and also to tell about the signs of cyberbullying.
